Following a successful BBC Introducing performance at Glastonbury earlier this summer, 22-year-old Rokhsan Heydari from London readies her impressive debut. Her upcoming ITC show is sure to build on that interest while coinciding with this release on the Worst Case Scenario label. Developing her craft while part of the Academy of Contemporary Music's (ACM) stable, Rokhsan showcases her fantastic voice and an assured knack for melody on this and other enjoyable tracks on her MySpace. There's a lot of promise here in both the voice and the songwriting – it's commercial but doesn't sacrifice any charm. JF ITC gig: Monday October 6 Night and Day Cafe, 18:50
