WE SAY

Early reactions to Robinson's debut single 'First Time' have been strong after some upfront BBC Radio 2 plays on both Terry Wogan and Janice Long's shows before the December release. Robinson, based around Worcester artist Andy Robinson, was picked up by John Campbell (who has managed Robin Gibb, Shakespears Sister and Dave Stewart among others) for his Palawan Productions label. Acessible tracks like Always Talk To Strangers and this, both taken from Robinson's album England's Bleeding which is due out next year, should strengthen his appeal to a wider audience. A session on Janice Long's show is lined up for later this week. JF London gig: November 12, Cobden Club W10
