WE SAY
Down With The Trumpets, which in its original form was our first YouTube brush with 19-year-old Brighton duo Rizzle Kicks, is also now their next single. It follows on from Prophet (Better Watch It) which we featured in May. Videos are a key part of their plot and their YouTube channel, powered by some striking videos, has amassed views approaching one million. Their Facebook fans have more than doubled in the last month, now over 11,000. Early radio supporters are Rob da Bank, Fearne Cotton and Zane Lowe as well as BBC Introducing, for whom they played at Radio 1 Big Weekend, Mista Jam on 1Xtra, Jo Whiley at Radio 2 and Bauer Radio. In addition to their first London headline show (which sold out in a week), a summer of exciting support slots - including ones with Dizzee Rascal at Mallorca and Ibiza Rocks - and festivals like Underage and Wakestock should all help spread the word. This irresistible offering whets the appetites nicely for their forthcoming debut album, producers for which include Norman Cook. Video.
