Long Shot
RIKA and Jamie Miller
WE SAY
With its compelling, euphoric pop production, warm guitar flourishes and powerful vocals underpinned by a waltz-esque feel, it only takes a couple of seconds for you to be whisked away by this gorgeous pop ballad from rising British-Indian artist Rika and Jamie Miller. Released last month and taken from Rika’s new reflective EP, ‘Conversations I’ve Never Had’, the Joe Kearns (Zara Larsson, Lauv, Griff & Ellie Goulding) produced track featured heavily on editorial playlists at DSPs across Asia and Spotify UK’s New Music Friday. Watch the accompanying period drama-styled video here. Her previous releases, including collaborations with Galantis and Kranium have seen her amass over 70m combined streams and support at Spotify. With backing from Instagram to create a podcast themed around her EP, along with over 350k social media followers and a global fanbase, Rika is an artist to watch in 2024. Tomorrow night (2 February), she will be hosting her London EP launch party at the Serpentine Bar and Restaurant, where she will perform tracks from the EP and unreleased music. We highly recommend you check out this rising star.
