Death Yawn
REWS
WE SAY
We first featured London-based duo REWS back in October with their track Can You Feel It. Since then they’ve found a live agent and other key contacts to help push things further and now comes the punchy follow-up to that previous song. Delivered to UK radio and online this week, it’s had a great reaction in Ireland already (from where singer Shauna Tohill hails), including one review from Hot Press describing ‘hooks that give you goose-bumps you could hang your hat off’. They’ve also just landed an endorsement deal with the PULP clothing range to be the face of their Jilted Generation brand and play live in London next week (February 16) at Venue 229 on Great Portland Street as part of Time Out’s Rising Stars series. As we mentioned last time, these girls have a stack of industry experience as backing singers and players, and their own work sees them specialise in guitar-driven indie pop, sprinkled throughout with earworms and singalong riffs. It’s fun, spunky, exhilarating music that's on the right side of cool without ever alienating. The buzz deservedly continues.
