Seven Sisters
Real Lies
WE SAY
We were hugely impressed when we caught Real Lies live at The Great Escape in Brighton last month. Already tipped by NME, Time Out, The Guardian and The Times as a band to watch in 2015, that support seemed entirely justified as they roared confidently through a lively set filled with memorable songs including this, all of which was lapped up by their enthusiastic loyal core of fans from north London. Their sound is uniquely British and reminded us of elements of Pet Shop Boys and New Order. This great single was premiered by Annie Mac as her Hottest Record on Radio 1 recently and the trio are prepping themselves for festival dates across the summer, beginning next week with Glastonbury on June 26. Latitude, Standon Calling and Bestival will follow later and they’re currently finishing up their debut album with production team Dan Foat & Nathan Boddy (alias Local Hero). Fader and Pitchfork love them and both Jamie xx and James Blake have featured their tunes in their sets. Now, watch them swagger in style to mainstream breakthrough with ease and assuredness.
