La Musica (The Trumpeter)
Ray Foxx ft Lovelle
WE SAY
Making an assault on BBC radio playlists, La Musica is this week's 'Record of the Week' on Sara Cox's Radio 1 Breakfast Show. With its hooky brass and club DJ support, Ray Foxx's then named,The Trumpeter, started out as a cult club track with a latino flavoured vocal. Support grew and when Lovelle was invited to add her vocals, it soon became apparent it was going to crossover to the mainstream. A first play by Annie Mac was followed by Trevor Nelson instantly putting it on the 1Xtra A list. The rest of Radio 1 have followed with Reggie Yates, MistaJam and DJ Target all adding support. It was added to Radio 1’s 'In New Music We Trust' playlist last week, an impressive six weeks ahead of release, and has now been added to Radio 1’s C List (August 17). Video.
