Róisín Murphy

EMI

WE SAY

In the current stream of exciting electro-edged artists, the timing for Róisín Murphy's return seems inspired. With what we've heard from her forthcoming album, she seems to more than make good on the potential shown in her 2005 debut solo album Ruby Blue. We still can't believe that Ramalama (Bang Bang) wasn't given a bigger airing at the time, it's a track we revisit frequently. This first single is both lyrically and musically distorted to wonderful effect and was co-written with Seiji from Bugz In The Attic. It is a subtle introduction to the direction she's now headed in. We've heard great remixes from Seamus Haji and Loose Cannons too. JF
