WE SAY
We first introduced you to purpl in 2020 when she entered the scene with a string of R&B-tinged pop anthems. Having collaborated with producers like Sky Adams, Lostboy, and Paul Stanborough, known for their work with artists such as Kylie Minogue, Doja Cat, Tiësto, Chris Brown, Janet Jackson, and Tina Turner, purpl’s music caught the attention of Spotify, Apple Music, BBC Introducing. In 2022, she released several independent tracks that featured on BBC Radio 1 and Spotify, leading to a headlining BBC Introducing live. Now signed to Big Hug Music Group imprint Salt House Records, ‘Baby’ is her latest release. Continuing to experiment with her sound, ‘Baby’ sees her bring her hyper pop influences to a UK garage-esque beat and R&B tones. It’s a gorgeous track, which has seen several spins on Radio 1 from Mollie King & Maia Beth, as well as multiple BBC Introducing plays and playlist additions on Spotify and Apple Music. Plus, a sync on Love Island too. Next up, is a collab with pinkpirate before an EP release in October and this is something we can’t wait to hear. One to watch.
