Need You Tonight (ft. Ed Drewett)
Professor Green
WE SAY
Using the hook from INXS' 1988 hit as raw material is a great idea for Professor Green's first single on Virgin. Previously signed to Mike Skinner's now-defunct The Beats label, the time now seems right for an act like Professor Green to make good on his earlier promise. This is hugely fun and with the right support, he could have his first hit on his hands. A remix from Doman and Gooding and another version featuring Sway, Bigz and Rinse gives this plenty of options across radio. It's new on the Galaxy C- list and has moved up to the C-list on BBC Radio 1, where it's also Dev's Record of the Week and Matt Edmondson's Weekend Anthem. It's hot at TV too, building plays across the Box and MTV channels. Yet another good sign is that it's No. 4 in the Shazam pre-release tag chart. The album, 'Alive 'Til I’m Dead' promises collaborations and production from Labrinth (Tinie Tempah), Naughty Boy, Mike Skinner and Lily Allen. JF
