Anchor Down
Popium
WE SAY
Anchor Down is the debut UK release from Norwegian five-piece Popium. Led by the robust writing of lead vocalist Frank Hammersland, which has classic Brit-influences running through it. Taken from the forthcoming The Miniature Mile album, scheduled for 10 September, it has just been given Radio 2 Record of the Week with the station fully behind Popfiction's future plans for the band in the UK. This has all the best elments of pop from the sixties onwards, and the melodic retro guitar-led sound should go down well with R2 audiences, and plenty of places besides. Over in the UK for promo at the end of August, they are actively seeking a booking agent for shows around the album and future single releases. JF London gig: 28 August, Hoxton Bar and Kitchen N1
