Alone No More
Philip George & Anton Powers
WE SAY
2015 has been a great year for Philip George. When we first featured his debut single Wish You Were Mine last December, we boldly predicted it would be one of the first major new entries of the year. Then we sat back and watched it fly in at No.2 in the UK, eventually hitting platinum-status before smashing its way into the charts in Germany and Australia, going gold in both. After shifting over a million worldwide, the follow-up is off to an incredible start. Added nine weeks upfront to Kiss and Kiss Fresh, Capital and Capital Xtra, support has also come from Radio 1’s Dance Anthems along with MoS Radio, Bauer and Juice in Liverpool. Now sitting at No.14 on Shazam’s UK Top 200, it’s also at No.2 on their Dance Chart and No.4 on their Future Hits list. Philip’s a busy boy too with live DJ sets at Bestival on September 11, and Sankeys in Ibiza at the end of the month. The formula is solid; based on Another Level’s 1998 debut single, this slick, feel-good floorfiller seems set to match his previous success. And we can’t imagine how many compilations that’s already turned up on to date worldwide.
