WE SAY
Recently premiered on Radio 1 as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record In The World, Petite Meller follows up Baby Love (one of our absolute favourite feel-good songs of the year to date, and former Record of the Day back in the summer) with this equally infectious funky pop nugget. Nicely layered right from the start, the plaintive housey piano motif is rapidly joined by rhythm guitar, handclaps, synth bass and crashing drums to create another glittering triumph of a tune. Visually her creative journey as an artist continues with a classy video once again, this time shot in Miami. Having performed at Reading and Leeds festivals in August, plus Latitude over the summer, she’s back in London this coming Thursday evening (October 15) for a headline show at Heaven. She currently prepping her debut album for release next year. Having previously been No.1 on Shazam’s trending chart multiple times now, you sense she’s got the presence and songs all set in place to see her become one of 2016’s brightest stars.
