Walk You Home
Passenger
WE SAY
Musically upbeat but lyrically sinister as the record progresses, Passenger's next single, taken from their forthcoming debut album, Wicked Man's Rest, is an infectious and superbly-crafted piece of pop. Mike Rosenberg's wistful vocal fits in perfectly with the creepier lyrical sentiments, but it's the brilliant in-character writing that makes it a winner for us. Recent sessions with Janice Long and Dermot O'Leary on R2 indicate the audience which this is aimed at, but this track in particular deserves a wider airing. Coverage of Passenger's non-traditional deal with Ingenious Media appeared in last month's Q: read it here. JF London gig: 15 August, Water Rats WC1
