Let us introduce you to London-based artist palmtreeprince with this vibrant take on modern pop and Afropop. For Zane Sigauke, originally from Zimbabwe but raised in Ireland, the music making journey started when he was sixteen, where he dropped a couple of tracks before taking time out to mature and work on his sound. Last year, he released his debut three track EP Come Find Me, his first new music under his palmtreeprince moniker. Rinse FM DJ Jyoty quickly dubbed him “the next in line to become the pop prince of the UK, while the tracks from the EP received spins at Radio 1 and online tastemaker praise came from Hotpress and Earmilk among others. Working with producer LVAE, 'bout us sees him create a rich, warm dose of Afropop with hints of '80s influences as he, lyrically, ponders the joy and support you receive from relationships. With summer nearly here and relaxing freedoms, 'bout us is a hidden gem, primed to celebrate the upcoming months with its feel-good vibe.
