Bursting with energy right from the off is this deliciously addictive slice of funk-laced bop from pop newcomer Paige Cavell. From a very young age, Paige has known she wanted to be a pop star and has been working towards this moment ever since, having attended the Italia Conte Arts School and completing her music degree. Signed to Xenomania after submitting YouTube videos to them, she was the featured vocalist on the label’s first release, Predators & Monsters, earlier this year, which has amassed over 250k streams, and on Friday released her debut EP Figure It Out. Co-written with Xenomania, this, the lead and title track of the EP, is a sleek and playful number that was immediately added to Spotify’s New Pop Revolution playlist. Along with her other EP tracks, which she has solely written, Figure It Out shows that she has a keen ear for pop and with her strong vocals has all the right ingredients to make an impact. Quite simply, this is carefree pop bursting with potential.
