Bursting with sun-kissed textures, infectious tribal rhythm and a sublime Afrobeat groove is this pulsating house track from Swiss DJ, producer and filmmaker Pablo Nouvelle. Featuring three-time Grammy-winning African vocalist Angélique Kidjo and extracts from esteemed ethnomusicologist Hugh Tracey’s extensive library of ‘African field recordings’, Milambi is an upbeat and harmonious number, full of joy and positivity. Accompanying the single is a beautifully edited music video made up of archival footage filmed by Hugh Tracey showcasing sweeping African landscapes and tribal dance rituals. Watch it here. Taken from the Eliso EP, out tomorrow (7 February) on Beating Heart, this joyous celebration of life deserves to be heard far and wide.
