Forget
Oupa
WE SAY
Daniel Blumberg's prodigious talent, as currently showcased on the role frontman of Yuck seems set to be further embellished with his Oupa side-project. A clutch of piano-based tracks have appeared on SoundCloud, which form the basis of a mini-album to be released during the summer. Forget is the title track - leading a gorgeous collection of stripped-back songs, musically haunting and lyrically touching. We also loved Weakend, which we wrote about in our weekly magazine recently. The music got a SXSW live outing this week, as Yuck blaze a trail through Austin. UK dates (some as support to Porcelain Raft) are coming up for Oupa this month and next. Oupa is, at the time of writing, currently unsigned.
London gig: March 25, St Pancras Old Church NW1 (w/ Porcelain Raft) / April 3, Blue Flowers at George IV W4
