Sad to See You Happy
Olivia Lunny
WE SAY
We’ve been happily bopping along to this gloriously poppy blast of alt-pop goodness from 22 year old Canadian artist Olivia Lunny since it dropped into our inbox last month. It has been something of a breakout twelve months for the Winnipeg native, having been tipped by Billboard, Refinery29 and PAPER Magazine as “one to watch” after releasing her debut EP, To The Ones I Loved, last year. Alongside this, she has racked up an impressive 16.8m combined streams, picked up numerous online blog support and been played on American and Canadian radio. Plus, she picked up the 2020 SOCAN Foundation Young Canadian Songwriter Award. With its nostalgic feel and cheeky chorus lyrics, Sad to See You Happy is an absolute earworm that will quickly become one of your new favourites. The track featured on new release programming at Spotify and Apple Music this week and has picked up praise from the Line of the Best Fit and the Official Charts here in the UK. A melodious bop for fans of Olivia Rodrigo and Julia Michaels.
