The brainchild of RotD-featured vocalist-songwriter Carmody and guitarist-producer Tal Janes (Jordan Rakei, Cherise), Oh My Sun are a London-based duo centred around a return to analogue life and organic songwriting. Having met in 2022, the duo quickly discovered a musical kinship and alignment in taste and philosophies that sparked a year-long period of writing. With a sound influenced by ’70s songwriting and a love for Fleetwood Mac, Big Thief and Alabama Shakes, the duo are now set to release their debut album, ‘Apocalypse Baby’, on 7 March. Exploring the themes of the environment, self-help and a general feeling of despair at the state of the world, the album has already received tastemaker support for the LP's singles from 6 Music, the Line Of Best Fit, Atwood Magazine and Reprezent Radio. Released today (16 January), ‘Friends In The Clouds’ is an achingly beautiful, heartfelt ballad perfect for new release programming and mellow contextual playlists at DSPs and spins on specialist shows on Radio 1 and 6 Music. Just beautiful.
