Heart Full of Ghosts
NOEL
WE SAY
Next up on our Ones To Watch 2025 is emerging Swedish sad pop artist NOEL. The Stockholm-born singer-songwriter first found an audience on TikTok (83k+ followers) with his cover versions and attracted the interest of industry professionals. Inspired by Lewis Capaldi, he started to write his own songs and collaborate with seasoned songwriters and producers. Having released a series of intimate, piano-led singles last year, he dropped his debut EP, ‘Headed North’ at the start of 2024 and caught the attention of tastemakers like Wonderland, Atwood, Injection, Noctis, and more. Building on his debut EP and buoyed up by the reaction, the now 22 year old quickly wrote more songs and last week (15 November) released his second EP, ‘Mementos’. The EP is a glorious collection of tracks, fuelled by a desire to explore his emotions further while tapping a grander and richer soundscape for his ballads. From the ’80s-tinged ‘Flowers at a Funeral’ to the layered harmonies of ‘Without Calling’ and this stunning and grandiose ode, there is a lot to love about the music from NOEL. With over 2m streams on Spotify alone, alongside editorial playlist support at Spotify and Apple Music, we feel this is only the beginning for this talented and young songwriter, making him an artist that should be on everyone’s radar for 2025.
