Silver & Gold (Finder)
Ninetoes feat. James Newman
WE SAY
Some Ibiza anthems seem almost destined for greatness, while others sneak in from the left field. With its carnivalesque beats and ear-worm steel drum melodies, Finder by Stuttgart producer Ninetoes is definitely in the latter category, but it's unquestionably a bona fide club smash. Initially released on German imprint Kling Klong, Finder captured the attention of the Balearic Jetseterati this summer from Carl Cox to Tensnake to Steve Lawler. Not least among them was Fatboy Slim, who noted the track's popularity 'from Ibiza to the Norfolk Broads'. He's right about the first part: apparently Finder was the most Shazamed track on the island this year. Strong specialist support for the instrumental, including Pete Tong (Essential New Tune), MistaJam, Annie Mac and Danny Howard, culminated in a Radio 1 Track of the Day on October 18. Now going by the name Silver & Gold (Finder), the track gets a soulful vocal courtesy of James Newman, who co-wrote Rudimental's Waiting All Night and has recently been working with Bondax and Gorgon City, as well MNEK, Two Inch Punch and others on his solo project.
