Love That Takes You Up
Nice Biscuit
WE SAY
‘Love That Takes You Up’ is the positive and uplifting single from Brisbane/Meanjin psyche-rockers Nice Biscuit. Last month, we were hypnotised by the fuzz guitars and hazy vibes of ‘Fade Away’ that was tinged with ’90s nostalgia. This time, the five-piece are back with a more dancey affair, with its disco-groove bassline, jangly jazz guitars, arpeggiated synthesisers, and rich and ethereal vocal harmonies of Billie Star and Grace Cuell driving it along. Watch the video here. Taken from their forthcoming second album, ‘SOS’, out on 4 October, the track featured on editorial playlists at Spotify and Apple Music upon release last week, and we reckon would sound great for a spin or two on 6 Music, Radio X, and Virgin Radio. Previous tastemaker support has come from Rolling Stone Australia, Dork, Louder Than War, and Beat magazine, to name just a few. A catchy and upbeat psyche jammer.
