Nia Archives
WE SAY
Next up on our Ones To Watch 2023 is new gen junglist and rising star Nia Archives. The Bradford-born, now London-based artist first came to our attention last autumn with the release of her brilliant Forbidden Feelingz single. Earlier this year, she dropped her breakout EP of the same name that led to a 'Summer of Jungle', which saw Nia playing all over the globe from All Points East to Glastonbury, LA, New York, Rio De Janeiro to Australia. Along the way, her euphoria inducing, club ready productions peppered with cathartic and honest lyrics have drawn praise from Rolling Stone UK, Mixmag, GQ, British Vogue, The Face, Pitchfork, The Fader, i-D and more. Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music have all been supporters. At radio, Nia has received spins on Radio 1, 1Xtra, 6 Music, Kiss, and Rinse for her music, including this seriously infectious club banger, the latest to receive accolades and playlisting. This year Nia has already been awarded the AIM Awards One To Watch 2022, BandLab NME Best Producer Award 2022 and BBC Introducing Artist Of The Year 2022, as well as been tipped by VEVO as one of its 2023 DSCVR Artists and nominated for Best Electronic/Dance Act at the MOBOs. It’s been a busy and momentous 2022 for Nia, and 2023 looks set to be only bigger for this rising star, but before all that, she has three UK shows to play in Manchester (30 November) and London (2&3 December), which all sold out in a day. We love her soft-hearted, cutting edge lo-fi sound that harks back to the rich history of jungle and brings it back up to speed for today’s everyday ravers. One To Watch.
