Trouble
Neon Jungle
WE SAY
Showcasing a just-signed new girl band before they even have a name might seem like a bold move, but RCA's decision to let Neon Jungle loose on their media day attendees back in April seems to have paid off. Popjustice wasted no time hailing Shereen, Asami, Jess and Amira 'your next favourite girlband', while Hunger TV and Planet Notion have likewise gone ga-ga for their brash, punky energy. Written and produced by Anita Blay (CocknBullKid) and Ben Berry (Fear of Tigers), debut single Trouble is two-and-a-half minutes of brassy, multicoloured attitude, ripping into EDM, pop and rap with a shout-along chorus - 'I don't look for trouble but trouble looks for me' - that Icona Pop might wish they written. A riotous party video has just gone live and hits the mark. From studio to video, this is well executed modern pop that should have no trouble finding a young audience.
