WE SAY

Surinamese/Dutch folk-pop singer-songwriter Neomi Speelman, aka néomí, bewitched us last year with her delightfully authentic and wistful stories from her debut EP before. Inspired by classic folk songwriters like Bon Iver, Ben Howard, Bob Dylan and Phoebe Bridgers, néomí’s music has seen her pick up editorial playlist support at Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Deezer. Tastemakers the Independent, Notion, the Line of Best Fit, Earmilk, Vanyaland and more have sung her praises, while in her homeland, she has received support from Dutch radio stations 3FM, Radio 2, and KINK, as well as, a live performance on National TV 1. Skipping Stone is her latest single from her forthcoming EP, after, and sees her music adopting a more intense and atmospheric feel with euphoric production and heartfelt vocals. There is a lot to love about néomí’s music, so if you are attending Eurosonic, we recommend you catch her on Saturday (21 January) at either the Platosonic (Plato & CC) at 12.30 or Oosterpoort Bovenzaal at 21.45. If you don’t manage to catch her at ESNS, then don’t worry, you’ll have another chance in London on 6 February at the Stand Up To Cancer show at Union Chapel.
