Surinamese/Dutch folk-pop singer-songwriter Neomi Speelman, aka néomí, has bewitched us with her delightfully authentic and wistful stories over the last couple of months. And it’s not just us either, as the Independent, Gigwise, Under The Radar, Beats Per Minute and Lock Mag have all fallen under spell, along with Spotify NL and all three main alternative Dutch radio stations – 3FM, Radio 2, and KINK. Released yesterday (21 April), i’ll be there is her third single and is taken from her forthcoming debut EP before. It’s another breathtakingly beautiful track, an intimate ode driven by a light acoustic melody and her gorgeous vocals. Once again, she made an impact at Spotify NL, featuring on its New Music Friday playlist, but deserves to be added to folk and wistful contextual playlists across DSPs and spins at Radio 1 (Jack Saunders) and across 6 Music too. We’ve said it before, but it's worth repeating, there is a lot to love about néomí’s music, so if she is not on your radar, we recommend you swiftly add her.
