We are pretty confident you’re aware of Scottish singer-songwriter Nathan Evans. Having triggered a worldwide sea shanty hype in 2020 with his covers and the massive success of his version of ‘Wellerman’ (over 2bn streams) in 2021, Nathan has been working tirelessly touring and on new music. At the start of the month, he returned with this infectious ode. With his signature tempos and distinctive melodies, ‘Heather On The Hill’, debuted in the top 100 of the Official Charts, climbed charts across DSPs and has now amassed over 5m combined streams. After a series of shows across Scotland for Burns Night and a live performance of this song on This Morning last week, Nathan has seen a healthy uptick in streams, sales and user generated content on Instagram and TikTok. With its traditional air and upbeat and energetic feel, it’s a great taster for his new album out later this year.
