Adam Öhman is the Stockholm-based music producer known as Mountain Bird. This great track has enchanted us since its first play and is beautifully layered with minimal production taking us on a journey through swooping euphoric moments whilst still remaining very chilled too. Close your eyes and you’ll feel yourself transported to some other warm and welcoming place, away from the mundanity of the daily grind, all vivid in wide-screen technicolour, and soundtracked by retro analogue synth pulses and beats, legendary Moog bass, and triggered snatches of drum samples. This is his first release for Swedish tastemaker label With Love Recordings, home to acts like Canvas and Swim. Adam’s music has already found favour with Steve Lamacq on his show for Radio 2, as well as at Radio X and Absolute Radio. Now expect it to go even wider as, yet again, a track originating from the Nordics leaves so much British-made music of this ilk right out in the cold. Simply gorgeous.
