WE SAY
Colchester-based six-member music collective Monster Florence is a band that channels hip-hop, punk and UK grime over hypnotic beats laced with raw lyrics and airtight delivery. They formed after vocalists Dream Mclean, Wallace Rice and Alex Osiris teamed up with producers and musicians Tom Donovan, Cameron Morrell and Jonny Poole for what was meant to be a one-off festival performance. Since then the collective has dropped two EPs, headlined BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury 2019 and signed a worldwide deal with Project Melody. This upbeat track is their first of 2020 and features Miles Kane swapping lyrics with the six-piece over a gentle piano melody, sweeping strings and tight production. It’s a real glam stomper with subtle hints of the Beatles and the Streets added to the mix too. Premiered by Huw Stephens on Radio 1’s BBC Introducing, Picture Frame has picked up further tastemaker support from the likes of Radio X, NME, 1883 Magazine, The List, and Fred Perry Subculture among others. So for this Monday morning, turn your speakers up and enjoy this little gem.
