23-year-old singer, dancer, writer and producer Mohombi is the first signing to 2101 Records, super-producer RedOne's new label through Universal. The half-Swedish half-Congolese artist had already won an African Grammy Award back home, before being spotted by RedOne (Lady Gaga, Usher, Akon). His album will include collaborations with Nicole Scherzinger and Nelly (who featured with Mobhombi on street track Miss Me, which was recently added to the Kiss FM playlist). The infectious dancehall-inspired debut single Bumpy Ride, the most added track across European radio in the past week, is an impressive start for both Mohombi and RedOne's newest venture. There is also a remix coming from men of the moment Swedish House Mafia, which should further its tenure across radio formats. Video.
