Drawing influences from Elliot Smith, Nick Drake, Wilco and the Velvet Underground is Michael B Thomas, the solo project of Leeds singer-songwriter and Eades keys player Thomas Barr. Produced by Eades frontman Harry Jordan and released on his label Bam Bam Records, ‘Test Tube Baby’ is the first new material for Thomas Barr since the release of his debut EP, The Moment’, last year. Having garnered the praise of the Line of Best Fit, Dork, and La Blogotheque, among others, his songs have featured on numerous Spotify playlists, including NMF, Lo-Fi Indie, The Listening Post and more. With its shuffling folk-rock vibe featuring backing vocals from Leeds-based singer-songwriter Gemma Gates, the track is an ode to his mum and all that she went through to get him to where he is today. Expect see this pick up some love across the aforementioned tastemakers over the coming days.
