MGMT is Andrew Vanwyngarden and Ben Goldwasser, a Brooklyn-based duo who signed to Columbia last year."This space-rock gem mocks the clichéd coke-and-hookers rock-star lifestyle, over big synth whooshes," says Rolling Stone, one of many publications to tip them for big things. Two of the songs from their first indie-released EP, Time To Pretend (what MGMT call their "mission statement") and another strong track Kids, have made it on to the brilliant debut album Oracular Spectacular, produced by David Fridmann (Flaming Lips) which is released in the UK this spring.
