You & Your Crown
Matthew Mole
WE SAY
We first featured Your & Your Crown as a demo from the Same Parts, Same Heart EP back in January, when it had just won Converse's 'Get Out of the Garage' competition, earning 21 year-old Cape Town singer-songwriter Matthew Mole a trip to London to play the 100 Club, as well as a New York recording session. Things have really taken off for Mole in the mean time; with Matthew Fink on production duties, he has just made South African chart history by becoming the first local artist to enter the iTunes album chart with his debut album The Home We Built (stream in full here), beating off competition from Jay Z, The Rolling Stones, Michael Buble and Robin Thicke. But Mole has really earned his stripes in the live arena, with tireless gigging at club and festival shows, playing the Oppikoppi festival - South Africa's answer to Glastonbury - this weekend.
