Matt Ryder ft Birdy
WE SAY
19 year old London-based multi-faceted artist/producer Matt Ryder follows up on his acclaimed 2021 Escape EP with this stunning collaborative release with Birdy. Since 2019, Matt has been writing, producing, playing and recording his own brand of soul-baring electronic music and then self-releasing it. Over that time, he has attracted radio support from Radio 1 (Jack Saunders, Huw Stephens), Radio 1 Dance (Jaguar) and was chosen as a Selector Radio Artist To Watch. Plus, tastemaker praise has come Clash, Notion, Wonderland, Complex, i-D, Colors and Dummy Mag, to name just a few. Released last Friday, Riverbed blends Ryder’s emotion-charged beat with ethereal synths, piano melodies and Birdy’s haunting vocals, which are delicately intertwined with Matt’s own. It’s a beautiful release and quickly featured on new release programming at Spotify and Apple Music. Expect to see the track be added to emotive electronic music playlists over the next couple of weeks, along with plays at Radio 1 and 6 Music. Watch the George O’Reilly directed video here.
