Control
Matrix & Futurebound ft Max Marshall
WE SAY
Everything's moving in the right direction for D&B production duo Matrix & Futurebound, seemingly now becoming a genuine force in bass music. Last year's All I Know gave them their first taste of chart success, but it was Magnetic Eyes featuring Baby Blue which became a fixture on UK radio in the early part of 2013. So we were excited to hear that for new single Control they had teamed up with Anglo-American soul singer and RotD favourite Max Marshall, whose smoky R&B covers generated online plaudits for her Forgive Me mixtape. Control doesn't disappoint; credible but crossover, this former Cool Cuts no. 2 was debuted by Radio 1's B Traits last month, picking up further plays from Danny Howard, DJ Target, MistaJam, Phil & Alice, Annie Nightingale and Rob Da Bank, with a first daytime spin from Sara Cox. Already sounding very at home on the radio.
