Can I Stay Here Forever (pt.II)
Marsicans
WE SAY
As regular readers will know, we are big fans of Leeds four-piece Marsicans and their brand of indie, having featured them three times before on RotD. Since their previous feature last July, the band have gone on to play numerous summer festivals, including headlining the BBC Introducing stage at Reading & Leeds festivals, featuring on Jools Holland, and been tipped by the Guardian in its 50 Best New Artists for 2020. Taken from their forthcoming and as yet untitled debut album on Killing Moon Records, Can I Stay Here Forever (pt.II) is their hardest-hitting track yet as the band reflect on divided attitudes to Brexit and the environment. It’s a glorious, full throttle ride into their harmony-laden sound which has picked up support on numerous blogs (Dork, Atwood, Euphoria), radio plays on Radio X (John Kennedy) and featured on Spotify UK’s New Music Friday playlist, as well as Apple Music’s indie playlist Kebab on the Night Bus. Next month, they will be heading to SXSW to play their first US shows, and will then return with more offerings from their debut album.
