We've been following Leicester’s Mark Elliott since May this year after we were impressed with his beautiful, piano-led ballad Good Way. Mark's second release of 2017 continues to build on his exquisite vocal and honest lyrics as the electro-soul balladeer reflects on the internal struggle of ending a relationship. It starts with a delicate piano motif that gradually builds into a funk tinged ballad with fat '80s synths and 808 drum beats layered throughout. Written by Mark and produced by the talented 17-year-old Mark Zara, Summer Storm is a joy to listen to with its fresh, confident and polished pop production. Expect to see this song sitting happily next to Maroon 5 and OneRepublic in streaming pop playlists. It’s a real gem. We also recommend catching him perform live at BMI/Frukt’s showcase night, The Fix, at The Social in London next Tuesday (September 5).
