At the end of last month, Danish singer and producer Marie Dahlstrom released her new EP Safe Place and this gorgeous soulful cut. It follows her acclaimed debut album Like Sand in May 2020 and her collaborative EP 4inARow with London-based producer Dan Diggas and Canadian rapper Aligo, released in January this year. Her contemporary blend of R&B and electronics has seen her gain tastemaker support the likes of Billboard, NPR, The Line Of Best Fit, NYLON, Complex and Wonderland Magazine, along with substantial radio airplay from BBC 1Xtra DJ’s Jamz Supernova, DJ Target, Toddla T and Rinse FM’s Jyoty. Written during Covid-19 in lockdown and whilst she was pregnant with her son, the EP documents her journey and finding the time to appreciate the world. This personal and laidback gem is the title track to the EP and is an absolute joy. Streaming support for the EP has come from Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and Amazon Music. Next week (19 November), she will be performing at Camden Assembly in London.
