Championed by Toddla T (BBC Radio 1) and previously featured on RotD, east London’s Malunga is back with her latest track from her forthcoming EP. Following her last release, the Earmilk supported single A.M. in September Proud is a gorgeous soulful ode to self-love and gratitude. Produced by James Berkley (Yakul), the track effortlessly showcases her rich and soulful vocal against a backdrop of warm organ melodies, lush harmonies, and ambient percussive elements. Further tastemaker support has come from SoulBounce, Reprezent, and Hoxton Radio. This Thursday (14 November), Malunga will be performing at EartH in Hackney as part of a showcase event featuring emerging artists, so we suggest you add this to your diary.
