Make Model
WE SAY
Glaswegian six piece Make Model are one of 2007's most sought-after bands. EMI won the race but this is their first single is to be released on independent label The Biz. The b-side is the equally abrasive but fun Union of Knives remix of Czech Neck. The band makes indie power-pop, spliced with a contemporary electro edge and this debut justifies the hype by showing great promise. They've already played Wireless and will perform at T in the Park, Latitude and Reading/Leeds before a full UK tour in the autumn. Their debut album should surface early next year; on this evidence it will be worth waiting for. JF London gig: 15 September, 93 Feet East E1
