Call Me Yours
Mackenzy Mackay
WE SAY
Finishing our Ones to Watch 2025 for this week and fittingly on the day Relentless Records celebrates its 25th anniversary, is recent signing, rising Leeds-born singer and songwriter Mackenzy Mackay. It’s been an impressive year for Mackenzy that has seen him go from playing small venues to selling out shows to crowds of over 1,500 fans, amassing over 250m streams independently and an online following of 1m and counting. It all began in 2023 when his song ‘The One That You Call’ resonated with fans across the world and has now amassed over 65m streams. Since then, he has independently released his ‘No Fixed Abode’ EP in 2023 and followed it up earlier this year with ‘Life, Love & Upsets’ EP, which included the RotD-featured ‘Looking Like That’. Now signed to Relentless, Mackenzy has released the singles, ‘Postcards’ and this romantic ode - both have been featured on editorial playlists at Spotify and Apple Music, alongside spins at Radio 1. Inspired by his nomadic upbringing, Mackenzy’s poignant lyricism, delivered in his conversational vocal style and backed by catchy melodies, has seen him garner the praise and support of tastemakers at Wonderland, NME, Radio 1, BBC Introducing, Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon and Deezer. Having sold out all his shows this year on his UK and European tour, as well as his forthcoming New York show, Mackenzy will hit the road early next year for a 28-date US, UK and Europe tour. With his ability to tell stories confidently and intimately through songwriting, alongside a growing fanbase, we believe Mackenzy Mackay is on his way to fully breaking into the global mainstream in 2025.
