MØ feat. Diplo
WE SAY
We first witnessed the tiny tornado that is Karen Marie Ørsted, better known as MØ, kicking up the dust at Austin's Mohawk Outdoor stage for SXSW 2013. By then she was already drawing attention for the lush synthscapes of last year's Maiden, as well as the glitch-pop goodness of Chess Club/Neon Gold single Pilgrim. Her new single XXX 88, the follow up to the Radio 1 INMWT-listed Waste Of Time, features Diplo on production, whom she joins for November's Major Lazer tour following her first regional UK dates with AlunaGeorge this month. Premiered last week by Pitchfork, who featured all four tracks on the Bikini Daze EP, XXX 88 has tipped past 350k plays on YouTube, while radio support comes from Zane Lowe, Phil & Alice, Diplo & Friends and Annie Nightingale. With further support from CJ Beats at 1Xtra and John Kennedy and Eddy Temple Morris at Xfm, MØ's causing quite a storm.
