Break My Own Heart
Lucy McWilliams
WE SAY
We’ve spoken before of our love of Dublin-born and now London-based singer-songwriter Lucy McWilliams here at RotD. Having highlighted her as an artist to catch at this year’s Great Escape festival with her brilliant track Runaway, Break My Own Heart is her gorgeous new shimmering single. It’s another dose of warm aesthetics, driven by rich and cinematic-esque production that is big and tender. Early support has come from Irish tastemakers and radio. Plus, we are sure there is more to follow ahead of her performance at this weekend’s Electric Picnic festival in Ireland and appearance at next month’s Ireland Music Week. The track received its first Radio 1 play on Wednesday with a personal pick from Two Door Cinema Club (who are fans), and we reckon it deserves more, including spins at Radio 2. Quite simply, stunning.
