Swedish/Gambian artist Luana Kiara shapes a rather sassy and sophisticated dose of R&B in this her debut release. Produced by platinum selling and Grammy-nominated producers Christian Nilsson and Mårten Fohlin, Trigger is drenched in dark, soothing overtones, alongside gorgeous orchestral flourishes as she addresses life’s daily struggles in this compelling and confident number. The track was released last month as the soundtrack to New Balance Scandinavia’s International Women’s Day campaign, which Luana was the face for, and where she spoke about the importance for women to stand up for themselves. This week, Goals of Dancing premiered the thought-provoking accompanying video, which addresses the issue of domestic abuse and she was a guest host on Sweden's P3 radio station. Following her collaboration on last year’s Bad Boy (over 14m streams) with the Scandinavian production and DJ duo Tungevaag & Raaban, Trigger perfectly pitches her among this year's rising crop of new talent from Scandinavia to watch out for. Bold, punchy and classy R&B dark pop.
