Here We Go
Lower Than Atlantis
WE SAY
Zane Lowe's Hottest Record In the World on Monday night came from Lower Than Atlantis, the rock four-piece from Watford whose name and reputation continues to grow rapidly and it's easy to hear why. They've got the songs, simple as that. This first single from their latest self-titled album (recorded in their own studio, produced by Dan Lancaster and set for release on September 29) displays all the hallmarks of a band who've already successfully carved out their own distinctive niche in their respective genre but now are keen to take things to an even higher level. It's a smart, sharp guitar-driven anthem, crafted to sound great blasting out of a radio as much as on stage at a festival this summer. They'll combine the two when they play with Mallory Knox and Marmozets on June 10 for Radio 1's Rock Week, then the lads hit the road next month for their own small UK tour, taking in Camden's Dingwalls on July 31. After that, it's Leeds and Reading, naturally. The UK rock resurgence continues to gather pace and not before time too. Mike Duce and the boys are safely up there in amongst the frontrunners.
