Call Me What You Like
Lovejoy
WE SAY
Bursting onto the music scene in 2020, Brighton band Lovejoy have quickly become one of the biggest bands around in the UK. Formed around frontman Will Gold, the band produce big indie rock, laced with British dry wit and some seriously energetic and addictive basslines and riffs. Following their debut EP Are You Alright and follow-up EP Pebble Brain in 2021, 2022 saw them continue to amass a legion of fans via their music, live shows and the activism/word of mouth of their fanbase, which has culminated in over 700m streams and a combined audience of over 30m. This blast of infectious indie is their new single, which upon release entered the Spotify Top 200 in multiple markets, debuted no25 in the UK Top 50 and in just over a week amassed over 5m streams, along with inclusion in Hot Hits UK, Pop Rising and as a RADAR first listen artist. At Apple Music, the band have been named an Up Next Artist in the UK, while Amazon Music and Deezer featured them across multiple editorial playlists. On launch, Call Me What You Like amassed over 13.3m total views on TikTok and the #cmwyl amassed over 5.1m views all organically, with their fans rallying each other across social media. To cap off a busy release week, the lads landed themselves their first Top 40 Official Singles Chart spot at no32. Next month sees Lovejoy head out on a sold out headline tour (8k tickets) before the lads venture out on a sold-out headline EU (8k) tour in April and a sold-out US tour in May/June (21.5k tickets) that due to demand had to have room sizes upgraded.
