WE SAY
Clocking in at just over three and half glorious minutes is this soulful gem from London-based singer-songwriter Louise Golbey. The first thing that strikes you with Different is the decidedly sultry vocals of Louise, luring you into the smooth world of minimal instrumentation, handclaps and 90s flecked hip hop beats. Co-written with producer Dan Dare (Charli XCX, Marina, Giggs and Gavin James), the track is her first release of the year and is perfect for any mellow soul based playlists. It’s another fine addition to her catalogue, which has had radio support from the likes of Radio 2, 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, 6 Music, BBC Radio London, Jazz FM and Mi Soul. Outside of her own music, she has recently written and performed the theme tune to Sex, Lattes and Hideous Dates, a new Amazon Prime Comedy series. Tonight (7 June), she plays at London Zoo Lates and later this month will perform at the Hard Rock Hotel in London (20 June) and the Summer Soulstice festival (22 June), having previously shared the stage with Katy B, Jessie J, Paloma Faith, Lianne La Havas and Ed Sheeran. Smooth, soulful and classy.
