Opening with slick, synth-driven textures before bursting into a pulsating chorus, ‘2009’ is the euphoric new release from rising pop artist Loren Heat. Produced by Chad Rodgers, the single marks the first in a trilogy of releases with Interval Records, ushering in a bold new era for the star. Channelling the energy of Lady Gaga and Robyn, with glimmers of Kylie Minogue and Scissor Sisters, ‘2009’ blends nostalgic late-2000s pop with a sharp, modern edge. The shimmering single is a must-add for new pop playlists across DSPs and a strong contender for spins on specialist shows at Radio 1, 2 and 6 Music. Loren Heat’s previous release, debut EP ‘Scarlet Haze’, saw them pick up tastemaker praise from the likes of Clash, BBC Introducing, Notion, Earmilk, CULTR and NARC. Next month, they'll take the stage for two shows at the Great Escape festival, having previously only performed in the north east at festivals like Twisterella, Stockton Calling and Waves.
