Nigerian singer, songwriter and artist Limoblaze, aka Samuel Onwubiko, has been successfully building an international fanbase for his Afrobeat-infused rhythms and gospel messages. With over 50m combined Spotify streams, the London-based artist’s previous singles have seen him collectively generate over 600k uses on TikTok, propel him into the Billboard charts (including US Afrobeat Chart) and seen him awarded ‘Best Gospel Act’ at this year’s MOBO Awards and tipped as one of Tidal’s rising artists to watch. His latest release, ‘Holy Father’ sees him blend smooth Afrobeat melodies with a summer flavour and conscious lyricism to create an atmosphere of faith and hope. The track is featured on editorial playlists at Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music. Watch the video here. Next week, he will release his new album, ‘Young & Chosen’, on Atlanta-based label Reach Records and hold listening parties in Lagos, Abuja and Atlanta. In September (14 September), Limo will headline the O2 Forum Kentish Town in London. All in all, this is a passionate and heartfelt release from an artist unashamedly promoting his passion for music and faith.
